Mladost is one of Sofia's largest and most populous neighborhoods, built mainly between 1960 and 1990 as a panel-block housing complex. Divided into five sections — Mladost 1, 1A, 2, 3, and 4 — it's home to more than 100,000 people and functions almost like a small city within the capital. Significant business activity is concentrated here, especially around Business Park Sofia and Tsarigradsko Shose, where hundreds of local and international companies have offices.
Mladost's character is remarkably varied. The older sections (Mladost 1 and 2) consist of panel blocks with spacious courtyards and green areas between them. Mladost 3 and 4 are newer, with higher building density and a significant number of new residential buildings and complexes. Its proximity to Borisova Gradina adds to the neighborhood's appeal.
Mladost has excellent metro connectivity. It's home to numerous shops, a mall (The Mall), restaurants, schools, and medical facilities.
In recent years, Mladost has undergone a significant transformation — many panel-block apartments have been renovated, and new upscale complexes have sprung up on the neighborhood's outskirts. The area around Alexander Malinov Blvd. has become a modern business and retail corridor, further boosting the neighborhood's appeal.
